Purpose

D-PDU depends on a root file that contains information of the locations of installed D-PDU libraries. This allows libraries of different vendors and versions to co-exist.

If this file is already present, it will be modified by a helper application named setup_library that adds or removes (on uninstall) information to or from it.

The location of this file depends on whether Windows or Linux is used:

Windows

The location is read from the Windows registry key(s):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\D-PDU API\Root File

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\D-PDU API\Root File

(The second line is for 32 bit applications)

If there is or has been a previous D-PDU installation. This key can already exist and the root file path is known.

If this is the first D-PDU installation, a new root file is created in

C:\ProgramData\D-PDU API\pdu_api_root_x64.xml

C:\ProgramData\D-PDU API\pdu_api_root_x86.xml

(The second line is for 32 bit applications)

Linux

/etc/pdu_api_root.xml
